Ritalin Day 12 - Visiting the neurologist

Today is the day I meet my neurologist for the second time.
It might not look like a big deal but the journey to get treated and the fear of getting a wrong treatment or side effects from medications make me uncomfortable and out of control. So I try to have some control over what I can.
I hope this makes sense.

Today I forgot to eat breakfast before taking the Ritalin LA 40+20 MG, so the meds kicked in after 15 minutes instead of one hour. I ate at work immediately, hope this settles it.

So what do I tell the doctor - I will share my experience with 40 Mg henI was sick and how they almost did not work when I was well. And about the 60mg dose that I feel the med's effect physically.
Hopefully this will help determining if we continue the same path or change the dose.

So that't a summary of the neurologist visit:

After waiting for an hour:
Me: A got 40 mg treatment with an instruction to increase the dose to 60 mg. When I was sick it worked very strongly
MD: It is normal, you should not take the medicine when you are sick.
Me: the 40 mg almost does not work when i'm well. But the 60 mg - I feel it it my head, I feel a bit off.
MD: It is a stimulant, if it doers not cause headache or strong discomfort - it is expected and it is not a reason to change the treatment. How long the 60 mg last
Me: about 6 hours rarely 7.
MD: we need to change to longer acting medicine. Concerta 72mg (2x36), it should last 10 hours and needs to be taken 2 hours before the expected effect.
Me: the pharmacy will not give it to me until 30 days passed.
MD: I wrote you a letter that states that the treatment was replaced with new medicine. If they will say no, the family doctor can write another prescription if required to wait (the prescription is for 10 days but i need wait at least 25)

So what this means - seems that if I do get focus, this is enough to claim it works. Straightforward and simple. If the time-frame does not fit the expectations the meds can be changed.

Next appointment one month from now, I will log the new prescription experience or anything rellevant while i'm still on Ritaliln LA

End of the day  - I got apathetic 1 hour after the meds vented off. Never been like this in my life - I always want to do something even when I can;t or don't know exactly what. I always have this urge to do or act. I lost it. Basically I probed my mid for anything at all and got repulsed by any though of action.

Eventually i put the kids to bed and went to watch a movie, just to see how long will I last until i turn it off. I didn't, somewhere 4 hours after the meds vented off it started coming back to me.
Weird. I'm not sure how to address it really. Maybe the intense week made it so, maybe this was a response to 4 days of higher dose. Need to observe if it repeats itself.
